Summary
No matter how much Truthless Recluse tries to make sense of the Sage of Truth, he never can. Week 1 of FrightFest 2025 - Reflections
Truthless Recluse finds a strange mirror that allows him to see glimpses of another version of himself: Compassionate Pure Vanilla Cookie. One that not only has his friends by his side, but also seems happy... It makes him wonder what his life would have been like if things played out differently. On the other side of the mirror Compassionate Pure Vanilla Cookie sees the Truthless Recluse. A cookie that, while morose, has the one thing he's always wanted. A good relationship with his version of Shadow Milk Cookie; The Sage of Truth.
Both of them want what the other has, but perhaps they can learn to be happy with the hand fate has dealt them.

“You want to fight now, Sage?” Recluse’s voice was low, the smoke of his scent curled hotter, sliding down Sage’s throat until it felt like fire in his lungs. He leaned closer, so close Sage could feel the words shudder against his lips.
“You know what I think?” His tone dropped to a venomous murmur, cruel in its mockery. “I think you want to be an omega.”
Sage’s eyes widened, then narrowed, the faint blush at his cheeks deepening even as his grin wavered. He tried to laugh, to twist it into delight again, but the sound faltered.
“Maybe you’re the one who’s too kept.” Truthless continued, his smile cruel. “Maybe you're the one who refuses to choose an omega, who toys with admirers but never courts, never marks, never claims. You strut around like some untouched treasure, but perhaps it’s not vanity— perhaps you don’t want to be an alpha at all.” His eyes burned, gold and blue aflame.
“Perhaps what you really want is to be bitched. To be put in your place.”

Summary
Three brush strokes to the right. Two to the left. A hand smoothing over his forehead, sweeping his bangs aside.
Shadow Milk knows the pattern well. His hair is always brushed the same way, in movements that seem almost robotic in how perfectly they’ve mastered the repetition. The bristles of the brush always skim over his closed eyes with such care, nimbly avoiding anywhere they might prick or poke. It always ends with a few final touches, tucking any stray wisps back into place before the brush is set back down on the dresser before him.
Pure Vanilla’s hands smooth through Shadow Milk’s hair, coming to rest gently on his shoulders.
“There. Ready for the day?”
Shadow Milk does not answer.
Shadow Milk has not answered in a long, long time.
