Summary
While the two students were fighting for the necklace Harry noticed exactly what necklace it was. In the middle was a sphere of metal, one section of it was still, being pulled tight by the chain on either side. Another section was spinning around every which way, being jostled by the fighting. And in the very middle was a horribly familiar hourglass full of golden sand.
Sand that was violently swirling.
Barely sparring a passing thought about the fact that last he remembered all the Time Turners in the country had been destroyed during his fifth year, Harry was just able to give a harsh, “stop!” startling Teddy awake, when the chain snapped and the hourglass came soaring through the air and crashing down at his feet. With one last thought he held Teddy tighter and tried to pull Malfoy further from the harsh light engulfing the corridor.
