"You heard me. You're hired. You can start working today."
You waited, expecting for the boss to drop some kind of punch line, revealing it all to be a joke.
"Really!?" You felt like facepalming yourself for such a ridiculous and silly remark, but the Red guy in front of you sort of shrugged. He hadn't the faintest idea of what was a good or bad candidate. You were alive and talking, clearly able to work and that was all that mattered.
"Yeah. You can work here. That's sort of it."
"Tha… Thank you!" You stand up and nervously grin, holding a hand out for a shake.
Peterson looks down at your hand and lamely reaches out, offering nothing more than a weak, meek handshake.
