“Me and Soobin?” he repeats. “Do not.” He resumes his vigorous carrot peeling and eyes Soobin wiping down tables by the window.

Yeonjun tilts an eyebrow, stopping his dishwashing to look at his mother who’s observing him from the table. He should have expected it. For her to show up at his place unannounced with his favourite dishes- she had to have something to ask.
“Yes,” she confirms, circling the spoon into her teacup absentmindedly. “My friend’s son. She says his back is getting worse and she’s worried. But he insists he doesn’t have time to get it treated, it’s expensive, yada yada. That’s why she thought of you,” she says, and as Yeonjun’s about to reply, she adds, “Of course, I said you’d be glad to help.”
Yeonjun sighs. “Of course you did."

Yeonjun finds himself getting attached to his client, a webcomic artist with a bad back but very nice hands.

Next to him, he could feel Soobin jolt up in shock. He turned to meet Beomgyu’s desperate eyes, lips already parted. Beomgyu, as always, already knew what his roommate was about to say, so his grip on his fingers hardened. “Right, babe?”
(In which Beomgyu and Soobin pretended to be a couple for a discount, but things didn’t turn out to be so simple).
