Summary
Roger, while Ace hadn't liked him, didn't sound like a bad guy. Shanks had told him all about the guy Roger really was. The man his father was. But damn if Ace didn't wish he'd been born to someone else.
But he wasn't. So his arms are chained above his head. The chains long enough that his knees can touch the floor, but only just so. Teasing him with the idea of relaxation, but not letting him fall limp without rubbing his wrists raw.
"Hi!"
"Hey."
".. What are you doing?"
"Gettin' out. Why, you wanna come, Fire Guy?"
"Sounds like a good plan. Uh.." He makes a vague gesture - difficult to do, chained to the wall. She doesn't seem to get it, though, so he asks again, "What's your name?"
She spits out a mouthful of chewed up seastone - what the fuck - and turns her head to him. Eyes blank and wide. Why. Why. Why is this his life. Why.
Why is she staring like that? Like she's known him his whole life? Why does he feel the same?
No. No, he's certain he'd remember someone like her... The scar. The fucking scar, it's- "Monkey D. Luffy." Her.

Summary
Luffy groans softly as he awakens.
It's confusing. The last thing he remembers... His eyes snap open.
Then he'd hit the water. If he didn't black out, first, he would've felt the water find its way into his mouth. Down his throat and into his lungs.
The sea claimed him – but he'd always belonged to her.

If you haven't read that (which isn't necessary) the Straw Hats die at sabaody so Luffy commits suicide after returning their stuff to their family.
