Summary
Hunter doesn't have any claim over the name Deamonne. It's not like he doesn't know that. If anything he would be a Wittebane, no matter how much the thought makes his skin crawl. More realistically, he's just Hunter, and no one in their right mind would claim him as one of their own, as family. Darius was kind to him, but the man had always been very particular about what was his; he wouldn't want a broken boy.
He knows all of this. And yet, 'Hunter Deamonne' is still what comes out of his mouth when asked about his name.
