Summary
“Perhaps it isn’t the best idea to bring him back to the Owl House.” Raine pointed out gently. At Darius’ unimpressed stare, they started to explain. “I’m not just protecting Eda, I’m protecting him too. The Owl House will be the first place Belos will check.”
Eberwolf grumbled, staring up at Raine quizzically.
“I don’t know where he can stay. He can’t go to the Owl House, and he’s definitely not going back to the castle. Any ideas, Darius?” The bard asked.
Darius stared down at Hunter’s unconscious form, still shaking even asleep. The kid was weakly clutching his cape. With a reluctant hum, the abomination coven head spoke. “He can stay with me.”
“Are you sure?” Raine asked. “It’ll put you in danger.”
“Belos won’t think to check if he’s living with a coven head. Especially one as ‘loyal’ as myself.” Darius explained. “Besides, he’d be more comfortable staying with me than with any of you. Ah, no offence though.”
The beastkeeping coven head chortled, grinning teasingly.
“I agree, Eber. Darius has gone soft.” Raine smirked.
Darius glared, but didn’t try to deny it.
