    Summary

Despite its unsettling beauty, the Chasm remained a place of caution—a restricted zone marred by unstable terrain and lingering remnants of ancient corruption. Only those with sanctioned permits were allowed access.

Which is why it is an anomaly when Yanfei found a little girl curled up on the cold, rocky ground.

Then, upon closer examination, she can only freeze.

A pair of delicate, curling horns peeked from beneath the little girl's hair. Smooth and polished, with a deep black hue with faint crimson red traced along the inner edges, glowing softly like dying embers.

Yanfei knew only one person who bore such a feature.

“No way…” she murmured, her voice barely above a whisper.

Before she could gather her thoughts, the child stirred.

The little girl’s voice rang with innocent delight, “Auntie Yanfei!”

Yanfei stiffened, the words hitting her. She had never seen this child before. Not once. Yet the child knew her.

“Okay,” Yanfei exhaled, though her mind swirled with confusion. "Let’s head to the Harbor, shall we?"

    Summary

Navia stands up and nearly spills her tea in the process, and Clorinde startles.

With her palms slammed into the table, she blurts out, “We should get married!”

It takes precisely four blinks for Clorinde to say anything. A traill of her tea runs down from her knuckle to the bone of her wrist, though Clorinde doesn’t seem to mind nor care.

    “We should… what?” Clorinde says.

Or, Navia proposes they make an arrangement of sorts. But she's sure that it won't mess with their friendship at all, she insists.

    Summary

    Clorinde notices.

She notices the way Navia stops short of herself from leaning into her space. The way she was trying not to grab her hand and intertwine their fingers like they used to. She notices the way Navia looks at her, but then suddenly becomes scared of something. Clorinde didn’t mind, of course. They have been apart for years, so it was only natural that Navia no longer desires to touch her or smile at her the same way she did before.

But she notices. The way Navia had become more…clingy. Touchy.

    Or

Clorinde loves and takes care of Navia after the flood, even if Navia doesn't want her to.

    Summary

“What do you mean?” Lisa asks, spinning around, face bewildered. “You and Amber aren’t dating?”

Eula clears her throat, feeling heat on her cheeks. She lowers her eyes to the floor so her blush won’t be so noticeable. “No,” she says. “We aren’t.”

There is such a long stretch of silence that Eula looks back up at Lisa in confusion and a little bit of challenge. “…Oh,” Lisa says finally. “I’m sorry, dear, I just assumed.”

And Eula would gladly leave that topic alone forever, but there’s something bothering her about how Lisa says it, how certain she was that she was right.

“Does everyone think that?” she asks, fighting to keep her voice level, even though her heart is racing and she feels slightly faint.

Lisa hesitates just long enough to confirm Eula’s fears.

“Oh, archons,” she says, absolutely horrified. “Oh, no.”

or, everyone thinks eula and amber are dating. gay panic ensues.

Two days later, Yanfei stopped by the board only to see that the questionable Wangsheng advertisement was back, as well as a new poem in the same handwriting as before. This time, however, the poem was accompanied by a neat note stamped with the Millelith symbol. Please do not write love letters on the Feiyun Slope Bulletin Board.

Beneath it was a smaller scrap of paper that read, This isn’t a love letter!, complete with a round smiley face.

Hu Tao writes poems and posts them to the bulletin board. Yanfei falls in love.
