“Mind if I keep you company?” Ellie asked, thanking the bartender when her drink had been set down in front of her.
“Not sure if I’ll be the best company on a Friday night.” he muttered before taking a drink from his pint.
“That’s okay, I’m not the best company tonight either. We can be miserable together, Dr. Grant.” Despite her words, the young woman gave him a bright smile that he couldn’t help but return with a smile of his own.
