“You Blackfyres?” the man asks, the accent of a rat of Flea Bottom unexpectedly falling out. Baelor giggles at the question, but it’s a breathless, exhausted sound. Not relief, not yet, but its vaguely hysterical cousin.
“Fuck the Blackfyres!” Maekar snarls, utterly incensed that anyone could ever mistake him for one of those traitorous bastards. The man narrows his eyes at them, his gaze seeming to linger for a moment on Maekar’s hair and eyes, and Baelor’s purple eye, before he seems to make some sort of decision.
“Not Blackfyres?” the man asks, inching towards them, the sword still raised, ready to strike or defend as needed. Maekar keeps his eyes on it, though he knows there is nothing he could do if the man decides to simply lop both their heads off here and now.
“Not Blackfyres, ser,” Baelor says, his voice rasping. There are bruises starting to form on his throat, lovely companions to those that have already blossomed across his middle.

The Prince is a good man. Dunk reminded himself. The soul of chivalry. He wouldn’t be cruel, not even with punishment. Moving slowly, Dunk grasped his sword and raised it above his head for Baelor to take.
“May the gods have mercy on us both”, Baelor muttered and then there was the familiar whistle of a sword being unsheathed. Dunk did his best not to flinch. He may have been as thick as a castle wall but he was as strong as one too. He could handle pain and he could handle dying.
