Hanahaki Disease (花吐き病 (Japanese); 하나하키병 (Korean); 花吐病 (Chinese)) is a fictional disease where the victim of unrequited or one-sided love begins to vomit or cough up the petals and flowers of a flowering plant growing in their lungs, which will eventually grow large enough to render breathing impossible if left untreated.
The year is 1901. The animals in Purgatory took forms of men in their suits and hats, strutting all over the town as if they owned the town—and more likely, the world—and the women that inhabited both. But not Waverly Earp, the local merchant's youngest daughter who showed no interest in being wedded off to a man, and whose view in love and life changed with the arrival of an unknown disease and a certain redheaded young woman.
