Summary
Lang Qianqiu was raised on tales of heroism and glory. Directly alongside being taught those myths of magnanimous rulers and resplendent gods, he had been told since he was very young that he would be one such protagonist. Xie Lian could see it in the way he walked into a room with his head held high, in the confident swing of his sword, in the gleam in his eye when he imagined how he would change the country of Yong’an for the better.
More simply put, Xie Lian recognized it in Lang Qianqiu because the young prince looked too much like himself at the same age.

Hua Cheng put a finger to his lips, which were parted in a small smile. He cocked his head to where Xie Lian could hear a ruckus of voices, at least one of them an old friend. He says in a low voice that reverberates in Xie Lian's chest,
"I came to escort you, gege. I couldn't have Dianxia trudging through the muck alone."
