So when a high ranking noble, with significant sway in Nilfgaard tries to get at Emhyr via a proposed political allegiance, Ciri cannot keep from toying with the idea ... just a little.

    Geralt hindered and helped, took and gave, appeared and vanished without a trace. He longed to catch him, chain him, lock him in a cage, so he would always be watched, controlled. Emhyr couldn't do such a thing: locked away, held by force, Geralt would lose everything that made him who he was.
