Summary
What had originally began as an attempt to explain the mechanics of the mirror portals using real-life occult/alchemical lore eventually turned into a writing prompt for a short story. Essentially my take on Micolash's initial foray into the Nightmare, and the Faustian bargain he is presented with as his pact with the Amygdalae deepens. Set during the Research Hall arc.

When Laurence gets involved, both of their fates become inextricably twined. Set somewhere between the events of the Fishing Hamlet and the formation of the School of Mensis.

Summary
[Post-novel] Slightly edited to avoid spoilers for upcoming work. Thomas and Dennis eventually arrive in Gilead to confront Flagg, but something goes wrong and Flagg finds himself in a state worse than death. In spite of this, he still does everything he can to torment poor Thomas psychologically, but Dennis comes through and saves the day with a confession.

In the few days before the hunt, Micolash visits the Nightmare Frontier on his own in an attempt to make sense of the collective research that brought them here. He can't claim to understand the beings in this strange land, but his encounters with them inspire a zealous faith in him, perhaps a misguided one.
