Summary
Following the events of "The Experiment" (book 28), Cassie realizes that the human-controller scientist (who helped them escape the meat-packing facility where the Yeerks were trying to get rid of free will) may be doomed. Visser Three will kill him for failing to create a way to remove free will, and he'd rather starve of Kandrona deprivation. But maybe there's a way to save both him and his host?
