Summary
He wasn’t sure why they were nervous. Maybe that was normal. Maybe everyone was. Working up the nerve to kiss Riku the first time — and not the impulsive kiss Sora had really first done, but the first intended one — had been a little similar. Way less daunting, but the butterflies and how fast his heart rate had been and how hot his hands had felt… yeah.

“You’re incorrigible,” Riku grumbled.
Sora hummed, tucking in Riku’s shirt for him. “You say that like I know what it means.”
“It means you have way too much sway over me,” Riku lied, though it was certainly a truth on its own.
“Awwww!” Sora said, and Riku blushed. “Riku!”
“Alright, alright let’s get out of the closet.”

Summary
They were as safe as they could get, though he hadn’t protested when Sora rigged a bear trap beneath the window, too. It wouldn’t be the first time a savage had broken through.
Riku glanced at his watch. Just past midnight. He nudged the leg of Sora’s chair, jostling him from his daze. “Hey. Get some sleep, you’re passing out.”
“‘M fine,” Sora grumbled, scrubbing at one eye. He yawned, a flash of pink tongue in the lamplight that Riku looked away from. “You haven’t slept either.”
It was on the tip of Riku’s tongue to confess he hadn’t felt sleepy or hungry in days, but he swallowed the words back down. No use in worrying Sora. As long as Sora could still sleep, Riku would stay up.

Summary
"You love me?" Sora asked.
Riku looked like he'd been punched in the gut. His face had lost all color, emerald eyes burning with the obvious horror on his face. Sora had never in his entire sixteen years seen Riku like that. Not when Sora had broken his ankle or when Riku had slipped the knife while cooking and hit a pinky— not when Sora closed that door with Riku behind it, or when Sora hopped onto the wave of keyblades despite Riku's harried yell following him— never.
