Scotty’s eyes twinkle. He, unlike Bones, has been whisked around the room in a cloud of more cheery diplomats. Those of whom that aren’t ground to pulp by the monotony of negotiations take their pleasure in a chalice of wine; in taking a pretty young man or woman back to their rooms in the dead of night. It’s slightly immoral, and Bones’ teeth clench at the thought of his partner joining their ranks, but it’s hard to focus on that when what’s in front of him is so tangible.
“Indulge me,” Scotty says with a smile, thumbing the crease of Bones’ knuckle. “May I have this dance, Len?”
