    It's been almost 6 months since the end of the war. Katniss and Peeta have managed to regain the friendship they'd thought they lost, but Katniss is unsure if Peeta is ready to face his old feelings and pursue something more between them. Katniss herself worries that she may not be mentally prepared for what a relationship might entail. The problem is, that hunger she felt for him on the beach in the Quell won't relent, and it only grows stronger when they resume their previous sleeping arrangements.

    In an attempt to stave off the hunger she feels for Peeta without putting pressure on him to label what exactly he feels for her, she suggests a simple proposition—that they become friends with benefits.

    But friends with benefits is never as simple as it sounds, especially not with a history like theirs.

    Peeta Mellark has been rescued from the Capitol, but he's not the same boy with the bread Katniss once knew. His highjacked mind has opened his eyes to the real Katniss Everdeen. She's selfish, surly, and indifferent towards him. And he hates her for it. He's angry that he was abandoned. Again. He's bitter that everyone treats him like a deranged monster. All he wants is to go home, but even that has been taken away from him.

    Late one night, he gets a visitor in his hospital room in District Thirteen. Someone who tells him they can give him something impossible: A second chance. He has nothing in this timeline. No family, no friends, not even memories he can trust. So he accepts.

    Peeta finds himself in District Twelve on Reaping Day of the Seventy-Fourth Hunger Games. He vows to do it differently. This time, there will only be one Victor, and it won't be Katniss Everdeen.

    As he struggles to survive the 74th Games for the second time, he finds that some things can be fixed, but some things are just inevitable. As if no matter what he does to change it, this would've happened anyway.

    Katniss would’ve never thought that she might make money out of her voice, the idea of anyone in Twelve paying for something as unnecessary as a song seems ridiculous but as it turns out, music is something everyone needs a little of.

    With her dad’s old guitar, a few dusty dresses that apparently belonged to some of his cousins and aunts and the songs seared into her memory, Katniss starts unknowingly stepping into the shoes of long forgotten performers and singers whilst also constantly running into her Boy with the Bread making cake deliveries and awakening something in her.

    Her discovery of her Covey heritage also gets her involved with the Revolution, becoming a voice for the people of all Districts… and the ghosts Snow thought long buried.
