Naked as the day he was born, Laios knelt in front of the couch between the knees of a fully clothed Kabru. He stared up at his adviser with those happily vacant golden eyes. His cheeks were flushed pink and he was already half erect just from undressing. It was a beautiful sight, Kabru thought, but not very becoming of a king. That’s what these breaks were all about. For three days, Laios didn’t have to be a king. He didn’t have to attend any meetings, make any decisions or even speak unless he wanted to. He surrendered full control to Kabru who was all too happy to accept.
