“...Who the fuck are you?!” Sanemi snarls.
“Excuse me?” The stranger’s voice is sharp.
Obanai turns to the man, Sabito, who the fuck is that? “Did you do something to piss off Sanemi again?”
“I didn’t do anything,” the stranger folds his arms, and Sanemi realizes, he’s wearing Giyuu’s haori. He shouldn’t be. “But if you insist on being petty,” the man looks directly at Sanemi, his violet eyes glittering with irritation, “Sabito, Water Hashira, at your service.”
The words jolt through Sanemi. “Where’s Giyuu?”
A cold whisper. “How do you know that name.”At the end of the war, Sanemi is given a second chance. (Some others aren't so lucky.)

It was Tengen Uzui that first said the word, demon, to describe the creatures in their shared visions. Shared and Visions were stretching the definition - not a single person retained congruent memories of their time together, and their impressions were not always visual. But they were always connected, in visions of the sun, and blood, and flashing color.
“I met someone, the other day," Shinobu said. She tapped on her phone and turned the screen his way. It was a picture of Giyuu, fast asleep.
