Summary
No matter how often the two of them had done this, Toothless always found it oh-so-perfect. And yet, he’d never tied himself to his mate, never fully claimed him as his own. He’d certainly tried, both for his own sake and in response to pleas from Hiccup, but his body just wouldn’t cooperate. Toothless didn’t understand why, for as far as he knew, he was old enough, he’d declared Hiccup his mate, and he wanted it so badly. Yet despite all that, it didn’t seem to be enough.
Tonight, though… tonight felt different.
