For less than mysterious reasons, Ouma Kokichi didn’t leave. He didn’t follow the survivor trio. He saw them off, already one foot out of their prison, and then he turned back. According to his own words, it was “for the sake of the investigation”. “I see where you’re coming from,” Kaito replied, “‘teamwork’ and ‘never venture into the unknown alone’ are lessons 101 for adventure story protagonists. But maybe, you were kinda hoping for companionship, so you stuck around and waited for me to turn up, no?”
“I don’t hire ‘companions’, but there are vacancies for servants and goons and subordinates.” Ouma quipped, “But take it however you like, narcissistic Momota-chan. I don’t mind if the thought makes you happy. If being in a good mood can make you more useful, I’ll be happier too!”

"I love you so much..." Words inches apart from Kokichi's face. Funny thing, his heart sank so much he almost got angry. He felt so vulnerable, so weak, so open and it still made him uncomfortable, even after a thousand conversations with a therapist. But the worst part was that he wanted to say it back, he wanted it so much, but the lump in his throat was unbearable. He could just stare in the violet loving eyes, at the softest smile in the world. And regret for being such a wreck who cannot say three words for the closest person in his life.
