“You don’t want me to know you’re scared, do you?” Keng asked softly, a strange ache bruising his chest. Namping was one of, if not the most, confident people Keng had ever known. At work, his face beamed with tenacity, his every move calculated and professional. Namping was intelligent with a heart as soft as cotton. Keng stares for a second too long. Namping sees it.
He lets out a soft breath, barely a sound but Keng hears it.

He says the name like a warning.
