Summary
Five times Martin brought Jon tea, and one time he didn't, across four seasons.
Martin selects three mugs from a tray and arranges them on Jon’s desk with the air of a man issuing a challenge. Jon imagines him throwing down a porcelain gauntlet made of shattered teacups and smiles to himself.
“We’re going to handle this in a proper scientific manner,” says Martin. “Trial and error. There will be notes. You can record it, if you like.” When Jon doesn’t say anything his confidence seems to deflate a bit. “Um, that was a joke, I know you don’t like to waste tape.”

“What mission from the lyrical muse has you occupied today?” Laigle asked, stretching out lazily for Musichetta and Joly’s benefit. No one did a languid stretch half so well as Joly’s Eagle of Meaux. “Daring exploits on the high seas? Highwaymen? Lost princesses of spurious European nations?”
Musichetta responded with a darling pout. “Nothing so exciting or useful. No, today’s mission is a missive to my matriarch, concerning many misspent moments.”
“Misleading?”
“Maybe.” Musichetta’s pout turned into a wicked grin.
Joly is determined at all costs to have a cozy day in bed.

Grantaire swung an arm around Marius’ shoulder and pulled him close. “Fear not, my good Monsieur le Baron. I am an expert in nothing if not love; I fall in love twice a day, once after breakfast and once before dinner.” He gave Marius a condescending pat. “I am moved to charity; a heart that loves is…something something, I’ve forgotten what. You, my young fellow, are in need. I will undertake to teach even you the paths of love.”
Grantaire attempts to teach Marius how to woo a young lady. If only Marius would admit he'd already wooed the young lady in question life could be much simpler.

Enjolras swallowed. "I didn't know he had tattoos on his back."
"Yeah," said Joly, shrugging. "I mean, he lives with me and before about noon, he's allergic to shirts—"
"Why—" said Enjolras weakly.
"I always figured he had a bad shirt experience," Joly offered. "Shirts killed his family, or his first dog got hit by a truck full of shirts."
Enjolras shook his head. His face was a little flushed.
"Ooh, are you experiencing symptoms?" said Joly, brightening. "What's your pulse doing? Are you breathing normally? How do your glands feel?"
Inspired in part by tumblr user feferi's post here, specifically: "i am in love with the idea that enjolras is so baffled by his own emotions towards grantaire that he legitimately cannot tell if he has heartburn or stomach butterflies"
Modern AU. Joly is a gentleman, a scholar, a med student—and, when need be, a matchmaker. And oh, the need is definitely being.
