"Slug?" Dazai finds himself asking.
Chuuya startles, as if he forgot Dazai was even here. He glances back at him hesitantly. The softness in his gaze doesn't go away.
"Our dog. He's probably not lost, he always goes around town to—"
"You named your dog Slug?" Dazai can barely fight the huge grin threatening to bloom on his lips. It isn't lost on him that it's a nickname he often used on the redhead when they were younger.
"For old time's sake," Chuuya clarifies. He looks so good in this sunny light, his hair like pure embers, and Dazai is a weak, weak man.

Or, Dazai has not seen Chuuya, his ex-boyfriend, since they were eighteen. But then he meets him one sunny day in June, thanks to nothing but pure luck, and all of the feelings he has spent years burying away come back to the surface in a flash.
