A bitter laugh escapes past Hoshina's throat. He lets his head fall forward, forehead pressed against the damp skin of Kafka's back.
“You can't die before I do,” he says, pressing a kiss between Kafka's shoulder blades, hoping to engrave the words there. A vow. A promise. “I won't allow you to.”
Or: Kafka's recklessness in battle may not be something new, but it doesn't keep Hoshina from worrying.

Summary
After a few seconds of watching the sky and peacefully breathing, Tanjirou directs his gaze on Inosuke. “It's beautiful, isn't it?” he hums, pensive. “Nature.”
Inosuke first wants to shrug, uncertain to agree ; Nature is way more than that, there's not just the beauty of life in it. It's hostile and merciless, it gives and takes with an unbending fatality. It doesn't listen to your feelings or your pleads, doesn't offer you any pity but laughs at weaknesses. There is warmness, but there is also an unquestionable coldness, gnawing at your bones until your last breath. He knows that, probably more than anyone.
