Summary
“—Now, where were we..? Ah, he’s gone,” the Sage of Truth murmured. He attempted to hold back a small sigh as he noticed the other’s absence; he could never get Truthless Recluse to stay in one place for long.
“More tea for me then, I suppose..”
The situation the Sage of Truth currently found himself in was a peculiar one. He had managed to… ‘befriend’ the hermit who went by the name of Truthless Recluse— befriend by his definition, of course. (The feelings of friendship weren’t mutual.) Much to Truthless Recluse’s annoyance, the Sage had managed to get the Recluse to meet up with him— at a local cafe in the Town Square, nonetheless. However, Truthless Recluse seemed to have... disappeared’ after only half an hour or so…
“I’m right here, Sage,” Truthless Recluse said, appearing out from a thicket of shadows on the opposite side of the booth where Sage had been sipping his tea. This, of course, surprised the scholar. It was amusing, or sorts, seeing the proclaimed ‘great sage’ be so startled that his monocle fell from his face. If Truthless Recluse cared enough to feel, he may have even smiled.

Summary
Shadow Milk Cookie lunges, fury incarnate, but Pure Vanilla is ready. He doesn’t raise his staff. Doesn’t cast. Doesn’t defend.
He simply steps forward. And wraps his arms around him. Not in battle.
In embrace.
Shadow Milk freezes. His forehead presses to Pure Vanilla’s collarbone. Not gently. Not willingly. But needfully.
“Don’t say you forgive me,” he says, voice ruined. “Don’t you dare.”
“I’m not,” Pure Vanilla replies. “Not until you're ready to hear it.”
The candles crackle. The walls hum. But in the center of the room, something quiet unfolds.
Not peace. Not yet.
But the possibility of it.
And Shadow Milk Cookie—terrible and lonely and terribly alive—lets himself be held. Just for a moment. Just until the trembling stops.
How cruel, then, how unthinkably cruel, that this moment must end.
Because in three months’ time, he will be nothing.
In three months’ time, his name will be only used in past tense.
And Pure Vanilla Cookie will stand alone beneath the candied stars, cradling a broken body.
Just to do it all over again.

A sdvn timeloop. Every time it ends with despair. Every time it ends with anguish. And I will read it, knowing how it will end. After all, Pure Vanilla does the same.

Pure Vanilla Cookie.
The very same whom he had loathed. A cookie that he hated to even acknowledge, whom he had tried to bring down at every cost.
It had taken him what felt like forever to like him, to listen to him, to even be around him.
But now, it felt like he could never let go.
