Jayce smiles. “Maybe we could meet here again. Say, two days from now?”
“I would like that.”
“Good.” He folds his blanket and moves toward the boat. “I’m sorry,” he says. “But I don’t think I caught your name.”
The merfolk smiles, flicking his tail in the bright, clear water.
“It’s Viktor.”
or: ten years after jayce survives the shipwreck which claimed his father's life, he meets viktor, a merfolk who delves the sea floor to find human trinkets. their bond is immediate and jayce finds himself wondering if he hasn't met this particular merfolk before...

“Are you staying over tonight?”
It takes Wonwoo a moment to realize Mingyu’s talking to him. He looks up again, and finds Mingyu already looking back. “I don’t think so,” he answers. “Why?”
Mingyu shrugs, but Wonwoo thinks he can see the tips of his ears turn red. “I don’t want a repeat of, uh, last time.”
Seokmin laughs. “Oh, you mean when you hooked up with someone right in front of him?” he says gleefully. “And you didn’t realize he was there until-”
“I was there, you know,” Mingyu tells him. “You don’t have to remind me.”(or: mingyu makes the worst first impression in the history of first impressions. wonwoo just wants to maintain plausible deniability.)

Summary
Wonwoo is a café columnist, visiting and reviewing many different cafés. There is just one café he does not have words for - and until he realises that's because of love it takes a while.
Mingyu runs a café with his best friend Seungkwan. He loves reading a blog about cafés and hopes to be reviewed one day too, but until then, he will enjoy daily life at the café - which is bound to be amazing because Wonwoo is regularly visiting too. He is just a friend, at most, anything else would be ridiculous.
(I will upload one chapter a day until Christmas like an Advent Calendar.) :)
