Määnin wasn’t stupid.
Määnin knew that many things in life were inescapable, certain to occur. Such as death, taxes, and his unwavering love for his best friend. And also the fact that said friend was the most oblivious person in the universe.
It’s almost certain that Tommy may never even realise his feelings – or what he’s doing to not only Määnin but himself.
OR: The five times Tommy doesn't realise Määnin is in love with him and the one time Tommy's brain clocks it.

Summary
“I tried to save people. I tried to put an end to this—this cycle of death. Can you say the same thing? Have you ever tried saving anyone at all?”
As soon as Gihun says the last sentence, something changes in The Frontman’s demeanor. A crack in the marble statue. He clenches his fist, a leather glove adorning his hand creaking in a way not much unlike a broken bone would, and as pleasure sinks into his heart at the sight, Gihun finds himself yearning to look underneath the mask with a ferocity he’s never felt before. He wants to see those narrowed eyes, the flaring nostrils, the slight tremble of The Frontman’s lips as he bites back at Gihun. He understands, now — those words from earlier. 'That is what I wanted from you.'
Are they truly all that different, then, if he, too, longs for that man’s fury as if he would starve without it?

or: After Gihun's failed rebellion, he and The Frontman finally have a long overdue talk.
