Summary
Set in GlitchyRobo’s Human Domestication Guide setting.
Humanity has been invaded by a precursor race of hypercompetent plant dommes called the Affini, and forcibly given paradise in a post-scarcity culture that heavily prioritizes the care for its protectorates, to the point of drugging and mind-controlling them into a blissful reverie if necessary. For almost everyone this is a vast improvement. All that’s required is to give up any silly notions that anyone except for the Affini know what’s best for everyone; in many cases the poor things clearly don’t.
Arc 4 of The Place Where We Can Stop Running. Without reading that and Learning to Walk, many references and ideas in this story will be lost. Please read those before starting this story.
