“And last but not least, this is our beloved community center.”
Lan Wangji took his gaze off Wei Ying to look at the building.
It looked quite weatherworn, dilapidated—a little worse for wear. It was not in complete ruins or falling apart quite yet, though it was closer to being so than any other building they had passed by. It was clearly well loved, well used, but time and the mountain conditions had worn it down, its foundation likely not built right.
The building was in dire need of a touch up and perhaps a renovation... or three.
A Stardew Valley inspired AU, in which Lan Wangji inherits his mother’s old home, but it takes years for him to return to it—and he only does when he is forced to. Yet, despite the many years without care, it looks the same. Unchanged, as if someone has been taking care of it after all.
Featuring grief, family struggles while learning to be your mother’s son, and falling gently in love.

Wei Wuxian is a servant of Lotus Hold, in the Ninth House, the smallest and most backwater planet of the Nine Houses. His life is pretty bleak (largely due to the Reverend Mother Lady Yu), although he usually keeps up his cheerful disposition. Then he meets Lan Wangji, and eventually, his life gets a lot better. But before it gets better, there will be an unimpressed Lan Qiren, homoerotic dueling, mutual pining, a really gross monster, clandestine vows, and skeletons — so many skeletons, both the kind made out of bones and the kind made out of secrets.

Lan Wangji took a deep breath. "Wei Ying. I have come to pledge myself to you as your cavalier, if you will have me." His gaze bored into Wei Wuxian's soul (metaphorically, but it felt surprisingly similar to the one time he had accidentally undergone soul siphoning), and then Lan Wangji clenched his right hand into a fist and pressed it to his chest. "One flesh, one end."
"Oh, fuck," whispered Wei Wuxian.

‘Alright, fine,’ huffs Wei Ying, blowing out his cheeks. He adjusts his grip on the smooth hilt of the sword, as cold as wet stone beneath his palm. ‘How do I give this back to you?’
‘I must trade with you something of equal worth,’ says the strange man.
‘Uh. Okay.’ Wei Ying rubs his forehead with his free hand. ‘How about your name? Your real name.’ In case he needs to file a police report or stalk this beautiful, scary man on google or something.
The man looks even more angry. He pulls his shoulders back and draws himself to his full height, which is rather impressive and forces Wei Ying to tip his chin up slightly.
‘My name is Lan Zhan,’ the man says.
