For a moment, he’s back in the hospital with his head throbbing and immense pain coursing through his veins, his lungs on the verge of collapse, his body begging for it all to end. He’s tired, so tired. Tired of not knowing anything, tired of the constant aches, tired of trying to find himself with nothing to show.
“I don’t understand.” His voice, over the flames and screams in his head, comes out quiet. He’s not sure if he even said the words out loud or if he merely moved his lips, mute with nothing but ragged breath escaping.

Plagued with the idea that his life must have been meaningless if no one is even looking for him, Satoru finds himself in front of a buddhist temple that proves him otherwise.
