You're a regular, run-of-the-mill young adult with regular, run-of-the-mill problems. Your finances weigh heavier than your anxiety and push you to take a job you normally wouldn't have thought twice about. A chance meeting upends every aspect of your life, both for the better...and for the much, much worse. All of it culminates in an experience that is absolutely not regular, and very far from run-of-the-mill.
You'll have to dig deep inside yourself and pass the gut check if you want to keep your happy ending.
(WARNING: the Reader in this fic and their struggles with mental illness (namely anxiety and extremely poor self-image) are heavily based upon my own personal experiences. Reader will get help and healing throughout the fic, but until then expect really detailed depictions of their thought processes, breakdowns, maladaptive coping mechanisms, and other related things. This fic DOES have a happy ending, but we gotta slog through the swamps to get there. :))
