It was a skirmish that began a battle, that began a war, that began something greater than the Holy Grail Wars themselves. Within Emiya's and Cu's blended fates, the ongoing fight was first nothing but a bad twist of luck; the universe punishing the both of them for whatever reason. The contempt the pair had for one another obvious in their minds, and so each destined meeting dreaded. Eventually though, the bantering became a little more playful, the fights even quite fun at times, the prospect of seeing one another again not all together unbearable. Eventually they're forced to consider wherther the passionate emotional they freely drove towards one another was ever really hate at all...
Fate seems to take liberty in entangling the pair even further where Emiya deals with the troubles of his present while wrapped up in Cu's past.

Cloud didn’t reply immediately. “You think?” It was a serious question. Reno looked up to catch them staring at him and blew a lascivious kiss their way.
“Are you joking?” Zack scoffed. “First of all, every person in this bar with eyes wants you. Second of all, Reno would electrocute every one of them with his mag rod for the chance to get to you first.”
AKA: Zack is lovingly expanding Cloud's sexual horizons. When Reno joins them for an evening, Zack learns something unexpected about his boyfriend. He wants to make use of this new knowledge, but it's quite a challenge to get Cloud to talk to him about it. Much sexy squirming ensues.

It seemed like they couldn't get away from each other. It didn't even matter where they were summoned. Each of the two put on their own fronts about hating the other, but when they resolve to ignore each other, could anything improve? It carries them through a few battles, but once a break is in sight, Lancer finds himself more worked up than he would like. All this ignoring each other gets to his nerves--enough that he hunts down the Archer he's certain is just hiding from him in Chaldea HQ. He could figure out the words he needs later; picking a fight with him comes first.
