Summary
When Davos Blackwood was five years of age he had seen Aeron Bracken playing with his kinsmen near the boundary stones at the Mill by the Red Fork river. His older brother Samwell the Younger had stopped him from joining in the game of swords.
Thirteen years later, Samwell the Younger was dead and buried in the godswood near Raventree Hall, and Davos saw Aeron again; this time in a seedy tavern. There was no one to stop Davos from approaching this time, and the pretty young man was a target he would not give up chasing.

Summary
The Bracken family is known for their nearly undefeated equestrian sportsmanship, collecting trophies and medals to almost put them on the map. The Blackwood family have been cattle ranchers for generations and easily turn a profit every year. However, when their rivalry gets in the way of profits, the Tully family stops it. Both families are left with no choice but to comply with Tully's wishes and send a few members from each family to help settle the matter.
Just returning from his first year at college, Aeron Bracken is forced to spend his summer under the same roof as his childhood bullies. Aeron has changed a lot since going to college and he finally found himself and discovered things that his family and small town might not like.
Trouble comes in the name of Davos Blackwood, practically dashing any hopes that Aeron had of trying to salvage any summer fun. While Aeron has changed, so has Davos too. Since when did Davos get so tall, strong, and rugged? Since when did Aeron start to think about calloused hands? Dark hair and burning eyes? And when did he start to feel a pang of jealousy when those dark eyes looked at anyone other than him?

“The lady at the bar. The pretty blonde one. Do you love her now? Did you fuck her? Is that why you don't want to fuck me?” Aeron's lip trembles as he speaks and it takes everything in Davos to not laugh in his face.
“No. No, I still love you, Bracken. I didn't fuck her,” Davos assures him, perhaps a little too amused for what the situation called for as his cheek dimples when he tries to bite back his smile. After all the bullshit they've put each other through recently, it seems funny to have Aeron begging for his love, and attention. Funny, because if it wasn't funny, it would shatter anything that was left of his broken, wretched, heart.
“Are you gonna fuck her?” Aeron asks suspiciously, eyes narrowing in inspection. Still not convinced.
This boy was gonna be the death of him.
