"The scream that echoes down the street stops everyone in their tracks. Everyone and everything stands still, as it should when a selfless person leaves this earth. The scream is so full of pain it hurts not only Eddie but every last firefighter, cop, pedestrian and news crew that surrounds the area. He hunches down over the empty corpse of the man he thought he was going to marry. He brings his forehead to rest on his, staring into blank eyes, and he sobs. Oh, how he sobs. It wrecks his body, his back jumping up and down and he rocks side to side. The grief is unbearable. It hurts like a burning fire in his veins. It feels like the earth is imploding and exploding all around him. It feels like the sea is ripping him from himself and all he can do is cry."
