Armand starts collecting rubber duckies and other bath paraphernalia, but the duckies become one of his… special interests.
He gets the classic yellow one, then the other two primary colours, and then he starts doing fucking Punnett squares with them, scouring the internet to nail increasingly specific shade variations, and no, Daniel, mulberry wouldn’t be the result of these particular recessive traits, don’t be ridiculous, it’s much more of a sangria. Daniel makes the mistake of asking where, exactly, do rubber duckies keep their genes, recessive or otherwise, and gets the mother of all pouts plus an entire hour of silent treatment for his trouble.
To reiterate, the guy is over 500 years old.
Or: Armand loves water; Daniel loves Armand.

Daniel nudges him again. “Don’t play dumb, no one will buy it. Would you like to have sex in a car? Get some of that quintessential American experience.”
“We don’t own a car,” Armand deflects.
“I’ll fucking rent one. What do you think?”
Armand tips his head to the side, considering.
“I think you won’t get your cleaning deposit back,” he finally says, allowing a slow smile on his lips.
