Having six younger brothers can be difficult. Having six younger brothers who constantly get into nonsense? Well, that's a non-starter.
It’s a little known fact that Lucifer is everyone’s emergency contact. When it comes to those he cares about, he is protective, almost annoyingly so. So, it makes sense that the person who knows everything about everyone should be in charge if something goes awry. His phone hardly ever rings for emergencies, half because his brothers’ manage to get themselves out of trouble through a series of convoluted and confusing hijinks and half because most of them would rather eat nails than call him to tell him something is wrong. He’s even Barbatos’ emergency contact, despite the fact that Barbatos has never been sick or injured.Bookmarked by Fate_sorta_happens

“It seems to be some sort of swapping curse,” he said, and tilted his head. “But it’s odd, I’ve never seen something as powerful as this before. I haven’t even mastered a simple swapping spell, and yet whoever cursed who was able to swap your entire sins.”
A silence settled in the room, and the seven brothers completely stunned at what the sorcerer had just said.
“Huh? Excuse me?” Mammon said, breaking the silence. “Did ya just say our sins?”

A hot flash of anger surged through Lucifer. He slammed a fist down onto the table, startling the lot of them. He was supposed to the one in charge dammit, not the one left ignored. And it would be so much easier to wrangle his brothers and their damned attention spans if he could just speak; something quick and powerful to remind them of who called them in here in the first place. But-
A shit-eating grin grew on Belphegor's face. An identical look was on Satan as well.
"What's wrong Lucifer?" The fourth-born asked. "Cat got your tongue?"
(Lucifer is cursed with the inability to speak. It's funny until it isn't.)

The drama, the angst. I almost didn't read it because of the tag but it wasn't as unhappy as I thought. It reminded me of an AU where Lucifer gains a disability from the fall that he learns to live with, though of course that doesn't come with nearly as much drama as a prank gone wrong from Satan and Belphie.
I like to imagine that Lucifer either learns to tell them why he can't forgive them and they get better that way, or that they get his voice back and he does it that way. Either way's good and I really love this fic. <3 -

This was amazing, I love the internal monologs, especially the line "He just has to think of something clever to say, something that will deflect as much attention as possible away from him.
