“But anyways,” Ben continues uncomfortably after the silence stretches on for a long moment, “I’m really not expecting you to, like, grant me immortality or something. Just, the next time a supernatural entity attacks the hotel, we look out for each other—relative to our own abilities, I guess. I’m not very good at that dark magic stuff. Just, within reason, like I said.” Ben narrows his eyes. “...You do know what that means, Abaddon, right?”
“Of course,” Abaddon promises. He does not. It is probably not important.

Winter is coming early this year. The town has to work quicker than usual to get ready for the harsh season to come. But to Father Abram, it seems like the harder the work gets, the more eager his son is to intrude where he shouldn't. Isaac, his young, sickly son, spends most of his time in the house. His father worries that a meek boy like him is susceptible to evil and illness with his fragile condition. But it seems the harder he pushes him to stay put and behave, the worse things get. After an incident of sneaking from the house, Isaac faces further isolation as punishment, but before it can start, he meets a peculiar creature in the yard who claims to want to exchange favors.The story of Abaddon's possession/entrapment.
