Summary

Summary
From the start, it was always Izuku chasing after Katsuki.
Izuku should have known better. He should have known better when Kacchan slapped his hand away and rejected his help. He should have known better when Kacchan told him to take a swan dive from the rooftop. He should have known better when Kacchan easily took Kirishima’s hand at Kamino. He should have known better the morning after his heat broke and Kacchan was nowhere to be found.
It took seeing Camie walking out of Kacchan’s apartment reeking of burnt caramel with a lazy satisifed grin on her face to slap Izuku with the truth:
Kacchan was never his to lose.

Summary
Everyone acts like soulmates are a sure fire thing. Like no matter what, you would end up happy with them.
It’s not true, love is never easy and automatic despite what media says. Katsuki just wishes he had known this before. Wishes that someone had set his arrogant middle school ass into his place and told him to stop chasing Deku away. Stop hurting that sweet, kind boy that put up with all his bullshit and loved him unconditionally.
It was too late now, but even as he watched his soulmate in the loving arms of another, he found that he had no one to blame but himself. And maybe it was time he let him go, that was the saying after all, if you love something let it go and if it returns, it’s yours.
Izuku would never be Katsuki’s but at least he was finally happy.
