Summary
Daniel took an interest in him back when they were teammates and, for some reason, wasn’t kicking him out of his house now. Even though it was late and they had nothing to talk about.
Because Max had no reason to be there.
“Shame you’re leaving in the morning,” Daniel said, breaking Max out of his thoughts.
“Why’s that?”
“I was going to hike up in the mountains tomorrow morning. It would be nice to smoke you on the trails just like I’m going to do on the track.”
And, like, Daniel was just filling the air. Because he knew how to talk to people and knew how to fill the silence, but for some reason, Max found himself saying: “I could push my flight.”
And, just, what?!
OR: The slow burn, Max and Daniel origin story set in pre-season 2021 that nobody asked for, and how I think post-race Abu Dhabi should have gone down. Viva la Maxiel.

Summary
There’s an irrational anger in him about not doing anything, something that bites at him like a mosquito until he’s half-mad and ready to run through a wall. He wonders sometimes, even if Daniel will never see it, if this is what his father has given him; quick hands, itching and aching with restless irritation.
Max keeps his hands so still and gentle they ache from the force of it and he kisses Daniel so that Daniel will stop looking at him with that faintly worried frown.

Summary
Nothing in his life suggests he could be suffering from a severe case of marriage PTSD, or anything of the sorts. His parents aren’t divorced, both of his sisters are happily married, half of his family has married or will marry their highschool sweetheart and he doesn't mind sharing his living space with other human beings, he’s quite sociable and perfectly able to adapt easily. It’s just that…well. His life isn’t exactly relationship-friendly, to begin with. Though he doesn’t work in emergencies, he is still a doctor, and his working schedule is a true nightmare, he knows that. Also, he has never really thought about settling. He is not a libertine, of course, nor allergic to the concept of monogamy, but he has spent most of his adulthood glossing over the topic, mainly for peace of mind purposes.
Open relationships or polycules also don’t suit him, and at some point he has just accepted himself as he is: a feather in the wind, floating, floating, never putting an end to his perpetual motion.

Summary
TK and Carlos have been vampire hunting partners for four years, operating out of Station 126 in Austin. When Carlos gets bitten on an assignment and turns into a vampire himself, they both know he’ll never be allowed to live if the rest of the 126 finds out.
They go on the run, setting off across the country to find some old friends who might be able to help Carlos come to terms with his new reality. Along the way, Carlos struggles with what being a vampire means, and TK with how to help him, and with no one left to count on, the pull they’ve always felt towards each other only grows stronger.
