“Caitlyn,” she says. That isn’t right. That wasn’t the answer Vi was after. Names are easily given away but so seldomly remembered in Stillwater, but it echoes in Vi’s head. She almost doesn’t hear the actual answer. “And though I have no doubt a thousand people have given this answer before, I did nothing. I was doing my job, and then I was here. No trial. No sentencing. No crime to speak of.”

Shadowheart is a cleric with a mysterious diety and a very ambiguous moral compass. Tavrak is a half-orc bard relying on her charms and her wits to make it through the difficulties life throws at her and the many messy love affairs haunting her past. Together, they might just get these damned tadpoles out of their heads.

Summary
Eileen, a hunter with strange ties to forgotten magic who is desperately trying to forget her own past mistakes, finds herself tied to six ragtag idiots by a deadly parasite and a looming apocalypse. Unceremoniously forced to act as the leader of new friends and enemies alike, Eileen isn't prepared for the adventure that lays before her. She's even more unprepared to find that the Sharran cleric of the group might be able to understand her in a way no one else ever could, and that maybe, just maybe, they might be able to save each other from a life of darkness and duty.
In other words, two idiot women find each other in the weirdest possible circumstances and emotional insanity ensues.
