Summary
The reflective scales that littered themselves down the length of Charles' tail fractured the light that broke through the water, and the great sails of his flukes drifted through the warm tide in heaving waves.
Max followed the glittering display as his torso disappeared behind a tumbling collapse of coral, eyes helpless but to match the delicate curve of skin.
Charles hadn’t turned back to make sure Max was following, he knew he’d been seen; deliberate in his coy appearance, and sure as anything that Max would tumble helplessly behind in his wake.
