Summary
Ned doesn't go south, Tywin becomes hand, Baelish gets caught and executed and the realm is at relative peace. This story takes place a few years after the King's visit North in 302 AC. Catelyn Stark watches her husband ride north to the Wall and feels only relief. Seventeen years of unilateral decisions, silenced desires, and a marriage hollowed to ritual have left her simmering with resentment. When she discovers Jon Snow bathing at her secret hot spring, a buried wildness, one she thought died with Brandon Stark at Riverrun, claws its way to the surface.
