Summary
Luna hated that fate had tied her down, preventing her from helping her best friend and forcing her to take a minor role in the life she had been given to live.
Imagine her delight when, after a truly torturous first year, the fates change. The weave gives her freedom to act, to comfort her friend, and to really do what she could to stop the disasters of the future.
Of course, she'll end up with at least a few 'close' friends, but that's really not her fault. The Weave made it fate, and you really can't fight fate.
