Diego didn’t really mean for it to come out as harsh as it did but he couldn’t help it. Hearing Mateo openly admit something like that struck a vulnerable chord in him. Seeing Someone as cowardly as Mateo get the balls to openly admit something like that made him feel especially weak in comparison. ( he cares about Mateo but even Diego can acknowledge he’s a little bitch)
