Summary
Haymitch is whisked off to District Thirteen and thrown into a revolution without Effie by his side. As the months pass with no word on the condition of his Escort, Haymitch sobers up, reflecting back on the relationship the two of them had. Realizing far too late the special bond they had could never be replaced.
When Thirteen finally follows through with their promise of a rescue attempt, Haymitch is left to hope that Effie is found and returned to him so he can finally explain to her his true feelings.
