"The first time it happened Jon had brushed it off as phantom pains, maybe some mild PTSD. He’d had worms burrowing into him for gods sake, it was only logical for there to be some lingering trauma. And when that trauma kept coming back to haunt him in his sleep, or on the tube to work, or in the quiet hours when no one else was left in the archives and he swore he could hear something scuttling in the walls and his skin itched where the scars dotted his flesh- well.
