Summary
After William died, the financial burden on Joyce was looking bleak so she packed herself, and Chloe up and moved to Seattle for better job opportunities. Separated, and out of Contact Max blames herself for Chloe's silence, but a scholarship to Blackwell promises a chance to move on. This is a sort of Roleswap fic (Max is still a hipster, Chloe will still be a punk), and will hopefully run all the way through Before the Storm, and then through season one. It's marked Mature for general LiS themes. Trigger warnings on the chapters.

After the tragic death of William her parents decide it's best that they return to the Fairer Shores, their own timeless world, and take Max away from her best, and only friend. Max never forgot, and worked hard to get back to her Chloe, but with a looming deadline over her head, can she achieve what she set out to achieve or will she have to leave Chloe again, this time forever?
