“I don't have time to be injured.” Marinette made eye contact with Tikki and sighed. “If I can purify this akuma quickly then I’ll be able to cast the miraculous cure and, if needed, still make it to the hospital before my transformation runs out. I’ll be fine. I promise.”
Tikki did not like it. She knew that Marinette would do anything to ensure Paris and Chat Noir’s safety and that one day it might end up killing her. But she also knew that once Marinette had an idea in her head, there was nothing the kwami could do to stop her.
So, with eyes filled with worry, Tikki silently nodded and looked at the ground as Marinette called on her transformation.

Marinette sputters. "But- no!- What?? Why? Me as Ladybug? Ha ha. Ha ha."
"You know," Alya drops her voice, oblivious to her best friend's distress, "he tries to keep it under wraps, but it's probably our school's worst kept secret, second to your crush on him." Alya teasingly bumps their shoulders together. Marinette's cheeks pinkened.
"What is?" She wants to glare at her friend, but curiosity has gotten the better of her. She doesn't know it's absolutely the Wrong Thing to ask...at least for her sanity.
"Well, according to Nino," Alya leans in conspiratorially, "our dear sunshine child totally has it bad for the Bug. Like, puts-me-to-shame biggest-fan material… Marinette? Marinette, are you even listening?"
Yes. That's the problem. Yes, absolutely, she is.
